Lewis County Washington has granted a special use permit to EverPower Wind Holdings to build a wind energy generation facility west of Chehalis Washington. I'm sure that EverPower is excited about this outcome and I watch with excitement as well. This is an incredible change for Western Washington and will benefit the local economy, long term ecology and is a step in the right direction for the energy sector.
I have been through that stretch of wilderness many times in the course of recreation during my teen years and early twenties. This area is close to my heart. I see Weyerhauser and The Department of Natural Resources choice to take EverPower up on this offer as a change for the good. The weather patterns that come in from the Pacific ocean and rip through these hill tops is one of our resources here in Washington with the greatest potential for doing good. The people will ultimately benefit from the trailblazing that these professionals are doing.
